Commonwealth Park Concept Vision 2025 – Public Engagement

The National Capital Authority (NCA) has released a concept vision for the revitalisation of Commonwealth Park.

The Commonwealth Park Concept Vision 2025 sets out the NCA’s early thinking on options and opportunities for the revitalisation of Commonwealth Park over the coming decades. It seeks to preserve the integrity and current uses of Commonwealth Park, while looking at ways it can evolve over time to meet the future needs of Canberra as a National Capital.

In developing the concept vision, the historic legacy of Dame Sylvia Crowe’s master plan, the impact of major events such as Floriade and music concerts at Stage 88, the role of the park as a major landscape feature and public resource in the inner city, the issues of accessibility and sustainability were all considered.

The NCA invites the community and stakeholders to provide their views on the options and opportunities in the concept vision, as well as other suggestions not covered in our early thinking.

This is the start of an ongoing discussion that will inform the NCA’s work on the future of Commonwealth Park as it progresses.

The community is invited to shape the future of Commonwealth Park by providing feedback on the options and opportunities set out in the Commonwealth Park Concept Vision 2025 by Friday 20 June 2025.

The Commonwealth Park Concept Vision 2025 can be found on the NCA’s website.

Submissions can be made online (/yourcapitalyoursay/commonwealthpark), by email to Commonwealth.park@nca.gov.au or by mail GPO Box Canberra ACT 2600.
